My City

 I live in Balangoda. Balangoda is a town in the Rathnapura District in the Sabaragamuwa province. This city is one of the largest cities in the province. According to the 2001 census of sri lanka, the population is 16,875. It also covers an area of 16.2 square kilometers.

Balangoda Ananda maitreya there, the world's first prime minister Sirimawo Bandaranaike and sri Lanka's first speaker Francis Molamure were born in this prehistoric city.
This city is located in the central region of the sabaragamuwa range and belongs to the wet and dry zone. The livelihood of the people here is farming. Tea is also grow commercially. It is also a city famous for its gem industry.

               The tourism industry established in Balangoda town can also be seen. Popular places are samanala wewa, Belihuloya and Kaltota. It is also a very beautiful city.

Mr. W. D. Amaradewa

  He was born on December 5, 1927 in Moratuwa. His musical career began at an early age. Amaradewa was educated at sri saddharmodaya mixed school. He received his secondary education from sri samangala vidyalaya, panadura. After that he entered Kaluthara vidyalaya and Balapitiya siddhartha vidyalaya.              He is best known as a respected artist who nurtured the field of sinhala music in North Indian Ragadhari music. He combines classical instruments such as sitar, tabla and harmonium with sinhala folk music and bharatha folk music. He is known as the Great Gandharwa of the Hela. He got the name " Amaradewa" from prof Ediriweera Sarachcharandra.                 Accordingly, Ranmuthu duwa, Adata wediya heta hondai, sikuru tharuwa, gamperaliya, gatawarayo etc can be shown as films in which he has contributed under the music direction. My Favourite Book

 One of my favourite books is sherlock Holmes. I also have a large collection of books in the sherlock Holmes series. Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character created by sir Arthur conan Doyle, a physician and writer educated at Edinburgh medical college. He is a London based advisory detective who specializes in solving difficult problems using his intelligence and logic. Holmes first appears in a 1887 publication, then unfolds in four novels and fifty six short stories. The first novel A study in lohitha colour was published in beaton's Christmas anniversary magazine. Also, the character's popularity grew exponentially with the first series of short stories in strand magazine, beginning with the Bohemian crisis in 1891. This sherlock Holmes series is a series of mysterious stories. There sherlock Holmes and his friend John H. Watson solve these mysteries.
